THE DOG’S DAY OUT
This sketch reminded me of this poem that I wrote a few years ago. Am sure many of you can relate the sketch and the lines and how some humans become so cruel and unkind towards animals. There are blessed voiceless souls who get a loving family too. Just like our pet Buddy, who was picked up from the street, when he was one month old pup and lived a full life for 15 years
Dedicated to all my Dog Lovers here...pl leave your feed back. Thank you
Sketched by me |
I was picked up from a garbage
Finally i got a family to look after me,
That day my happiness had no bound
I was welcomed wholeheartedly by all
I was named affectionately 'SPICY'
Became their child's live soft toy too
Days, months, years passed by,
I became a handsome dude
I held my head high and walked with pride
Never knew my freedom is going to be tied
One day i became their excess baggage
They decided to throw me back in garbage
I pleaded with my parents, put me on leash
And tie me up, would be happy
To be your watch man at the gate
But dont orphan me saying its your fate
I cried to God, please give me wings,
So that i can fly off from these stings
All my cries and hues were muted
Whether you buy me or adopt me,
After all am a Dog , a labelled animal
Am back to my destiny's destined place
An unknown land, where no food or water
Once handsome dude, everyone's favourite
Now on the road, with no destination
Begins his first Dog's Day Out
All over again.
